Be helpful and respectful
Write for travelers who are trying to make real plans. Be practical, kind and specific. Disagree with advice when needed, but do not attack the person giving it.
Share real experiences
First-hand context is valuable. Mention when you visited, what changed, what worked, what did not and what type of traveler your advice may fit.
Be clear when advice is opinion or personal experience
Separate facts from opinion. If you are estimating costs, safety, wait times, routes or requirements, say so clearly and encourage people to check current official sources.
No scams, spam or advertising abuse
Do not post scams, referral spam, repetitive promotions, fake recommendations, affiliate abuse or content that exists mainly to drive traffic away from the community.
No harassment or hate
Harassment, threats, hate speech, slurs, sexual harassment, intimidation and personal attacks are not welcome. Treat local communities, travelers and cultures with respect.
No dangerous misinformation
Do not present unsafe, illegal or misleading information as reliable travel advice. This includes dangerous border advice, fake visa guidance, health misinformation or instructions that could put travelers or local communities at risk.
Travel safety and sensitive topics
Safety, law, health, politics and culture can be sensitive. Be careful, current and respectful. Encourage people to verify important information with official or trusted sources.
Uploading photos responsibly
Only upload photos you have the right to share. Avoid exposing passports, tickets, private addresses, children's personal information, license plates or people who did not consent to be featured.
Reporting content
Use reports when content appears unsafe, abusive, spammy, illegal, misleading or off-topic. Reports should be accurate and made in good faith.
Moderator actions
Moderators may hide, edit, restore or remove content and may restrict accounts when needed. The goal is to keep AskWanderers useful, safe and welcoming.
